Efudix (Fluorouracil 5% Cream) Information

Warnings

  • Toxic to pets: Efudix is highly poisonous to animals, especially cats and dogs. Prevent pets from licking treated areas or coming into contact with the cream.
  • Avoid skin contact with others: Do not share towels, bedding, or clothing that may have touched treated skin.
  • Use gloves if applying to someone else: If assisting another person, wear disposable gloves and wash hands thoroughly afterward.
  • Eye and mouth exposure: If the cream accidentally gets into your eyes, mouth, or nose, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice.
  • Keep out of reach of children: Store securely to prevent accidental ingestion or misuse.

Ingredients

Active Ingredient: Fluorouracil (5%)

Inactive Ingredients: Methylparahydroxybenzoate (E218), propylparahydroxybenzoate (E216), white soft paraffin, stearyl alcohol, and purified water.

Directions for Use

  • Apply a thin layer to the affected area once or twice daily as directed by your healthcare provider.
  • Avoid contact with healthy skin, eyes, mouth, and mucous membranes.
  • Wash hands immediately after application unless treating hands.
  • Treatment typically lasts 2-4 weeks, depending on the condition.
  • Minimize sun exposure during and after treatment.

Precautions

  • Do not use if allergic to fluorouracil or any of the ingredients.
  • Not for use on open wounds, broken skin, or infections.
  • Redness, peeling, and irritation are expected reactions.
  • Discontinue use and seek medical advice if you experience severe pain, excessive swelling, or signs of infection.
  • Not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding unless prescribed by a doctor.
