What It’s For

Screening for raised total cholesterol — a major cardiovascular risk factor. Useful if you:

• Have a family history of high cholesterol or premature heart disease
• Are over 40, have diabetes, are overweight, or smoke
• Want to track the impact of diet, exercise, or medication

This kit measures total cholesterol only. For a full lipid profile (HDL, LDL, triglycerides), see your GP or a lab test.

Directions for Use

• Adults (18+): read the leaflet fully before testing.
• Warm and clean your fingertip. Use the lancet to obtain a drop of blood.
• Collect the sample with the capillary/dropper and add to the cassette well.
• Add the buffer as directed and start timing.
• Wait about 2 minutes, then read within the stated window.
• Interpretation (typical categories):
  • Desirable — within green band
  • Borderline high — amber band
  • High — red band (seek medical advice)

Fasting is not required for total cholesterol screening. For full lipids or triglycerides, follow your clinician’s advice.
