What It’s For

• Short-term relief of muscle and joint pain such as strains, sprains, and sports injuries
• Backache, soft-tissue rheumatism, and localised pain from minor trauma

This is the standard-strength Voltarol Gel designed for 2–4 applications daily.

Active & Inactive Ingredients

Active (per 100 g): Diclofenac diethylammonium 1.16 g (equivalent to 1 g diclofenac sodium).

Selected excipients: Isopropyl alcohol, propylene glycol, carbomer, cocoyl caprylocaprate,
macrogol cetostearyl ether, paraffin, oleyl alcohol, perfume, purified water.

Directions for Use

• Adults and children 14+: Apply a small amount of gel to the affected area 3–4 times daily.
• Gently massage into the skin until fully absorbed.
• Typical amount: a piece about the size of a 1p–2p coin (≈2–4 g) per area.
• Wash hands after use unless treating the hands.
• Maximum: Do not exceed 16 g of gel per day.
• Use for up to 7 days; if symptoms persist or worsen, seek medical advice.

Do Not Use If

• Allergic to diclofenac, aspirin, other NSAIDs, or any ingredient in the gel
• You’ve ever had wheezing, asthma, or hives after NSAIDs
• In the last 3 months of pregnancy
• On broken, infected, or eczematous skin

Warnings & Precautions

• Use on small areas only and for the shortest duration necessary.
• Avoid direct sunlight/UV exposure on treated areas (photosensitivity risk).
• Ask your doctor before use if pregnant (first or second trimester), breastfeeding, asthmatic, or taking oral NSAIDs/aspirin/anticoagulants.
• Do not cover with occlusive dressings.
• Stop use if rash or irritation develops.
• Keep out of reach of children.

Possible Side Effects

• Common: mild redness, itching, or irritation at the application site
• Uncommon: dermatitis, photosensitivity
• Very rare: allergic reactions, including wheeze or facial swelling — stop use and seek help if this occurs

Helpful Info

• Contains the same active ingredient as Voltarol 2.32% Gel but with a lower concentration for more frequent daily use.
• Provides anti-inflammatory and analgesic relief at the site of pain.
• Not for long-term use without medical supervision.
